Five Reasons why Homosexuality is Wrong

There are those homosexuals today who are claiming to be Christians and are perverting God's Word to promote their agenda in trying to convince the public that God's Word does not condemn homosexuality. Even going so far as saying that you can be both gay and still be a Christian. I have personally dialogued briefly with one such homosexual man who claims to be a Christian, and has written a book entitled, "Being Gay, Being Christian." His name is Dr. Stuart Edser. Below I have written five reasons why I reject his position on the subject. I could give more reasons, but these five will do for now.

(1.) In the Beginning God made them male and female, not male with male or female with female. This is a perversion of God's creation of man and woman (see Gen. 1: 27; 2:7, 24).

(2.) God's plan for the marriage union is exclusively for the man and woman, not for homosexual couples (see Gen. 2: 24; Matt. 19: 5).

(3.) The outcome of the sexual union between a man and a woman is children, which God commanded our original parents to "be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth" (Gen. 1: 28). Obviously the sexual union between same gender relationships cannot produce children, because it is diametrically opposed against God's plan for the man and woman.

(4.) It is a known fact among gay couples that one partner plays the masculine role during sex while the other plays the feminine role, then they alternate the roles. The fact that the male and female sexual organs were designed by God to compliment each other during sex, testifies strongly against same sex relationships.

(5.) Finally, God cannot and will not bless same sex relationships that are in opposition to His will for men and women. For same sex unions are "an abomination" to Him (see Lev. 18: 22) and will be judged by God (see Gen. 19: 1-29; Rom. 1: 24-28).

Is change possible for people who lead homosexual lives? Yes! It may be impossible for the person who is gay to change, but when such a person turns to Christ in repentance and receives God's salvation, then change is most definitely possible. The Apostle Paul said of such Christians at Corinth who were once homosexuals, "and such were some of you" (1 Cor. 6: 11, 9). Again, Paul says of the change that takes place in a genuine believer in Christ, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Cor. 5: 17). Only the Lord Jesus Christ can deliver a person from the sin of homosexuality.
