"Now there was a famine in the land; so Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land."
(Genesis 12: 10, NASB)
There has been much written on the life of Abraham over the years. So I am not going to elaborate in detail all the events of his life. In this blog I am just going to focus on a simple meditation on Abram's lesson he learned in Egypt. Below is an outline I will be sharing about my thoughts on Abram's experience in Egypt.
1. Abram "went down" into Egypt = FAMINE! (Gen. 12: 10-20).
2. Abram "went up" from Egypt = REPENTANCE! (Gen. 13: 1-2).
3. Abram "went on" from Egypt to Bethel = RESTORATION! (Gen. 13: 3-18).
